Intel Smartphone - Lenovo K800 for China - Lenovo K800 Price: $999

Intel Smartphone - Lenovo K800 for China, Motorola Devices Coming

Intel announcement late Tuesday at CES that phone using its "Medfield" Atom processor would ship current year was shocking adequate. Although, even more astonishingly, the Lenovo K800 appears to be competitive, fashionable, and even cutting edge.
Anyone will not see Lenovo K800 here in the United States, however. Lenovo plans to open the K800 on the China Unicom network through the second quarter, even if demonstration units exposed off Tuesday night at the ShowStoppers event at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show controlled an AT&T SIM.

Lenovo K800 ticks all the boxes Spec-wise: Lenovo K800 runs a skinned Android 2.3 Gingerbread, while it will be upgraded to Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. It uses China Unicom's WCDMA HSPA network, at 21 Mbit speeds. Inside is 802.11b/g/n connectivity, GPS and BlueTooth 3.0. On the rear is a 8 mp camera; there's a front-mounted camera as well, with an hidden resolution. Inside is a complete gigabye of memory, but an unexpectedly little 500 megabytes of internal storage. The 4.5-inch multi-touch TFT screen offers 720p resolution; it's large, vibrant, and a bit intimidating for one-handed swiping and tapping.

Of course, is the 1.6-GHz Medfield processor inside the phone, an X86 chip that powers the Android OS. We didn't have a chance to try out any high-performance games on the device, and we could not even sneakily download any from the Android Market; the market is banned in China, we were told, and does not actually appear on the K800.

As well phones, Intel had a few more things to say about Ultra-books. First Dell revealed its first-ever Ultrabook, a design with a 13-inch display that weighs less than 3 pounds. Lenovo K800 Price: $999 and be available in February 2012.
